November 6th is our next meeting at Route #66 BBQ in Hiram at 7:00. We will have elections for our 2009 Officers. Any and all are welcome to run for office. You must be a member in good standing to vote. The Points Keeper will be there with “members in good standing” list.

Thanks to everyone who donated items and services to the silent auction. We had a great show raised monies for The Special Olympics and Bass Family.

Our costume class was a big hit this year! Everyone looked great and the judge had trouble deciding on winners! Click here to view pictures!

October Charity Show

Our next Open show will be October 25th!  Remember, we have an added costume class so start going through the trunks and closets to come up with a unique costume for you and your horse!
The August 16th State Warm-up show has been canceled.  
August 29th starts the Perry, Ga State Show!  Good luck to all the NWGHA riders.
We have a scheduled Gymkhana/Trail day for September 27th at Paulding Meadows.  Sheri Fennell is the show chair for this event.  If you have any questions or would like to see a special game or trail challenge please contact Sheri at stsfennell@bellsouth.net.
Lisa Weisert is heading up the Christmas party committee.  Mark your calendars for December 13th, 6:00.  Remember, members in good standing do not have to pay for their dinners and are eligible for end of year awards and gifts.   Lisa is going to need a head count for the caterers no later than October 1st!  
Our next meeting will be Thursday September 4th at the Rt 61 BBQ restaurant.

For the High Point Show on July 26th we will have a GRAND ENTRY at the beginning of the show, following the national anthem.  Everyone is invited to participate - so saddle up early and be ready to ride.  
The Paulding County Saddle Club Drill team is selling rodeo tickets?  They’re $10 for adults and $4 for children ages 5-12.  Ages 4 & under is free.
If you buy them at the gate they will be $15 for adults and $5 ages 5-12.  Please email for tickets and help support the PCSC Drill Team.

July 26th Championship Show

Mark your calendars! July 26th is our 2nd annual High Point Show.  We have added money to payback classes and are awarding High Point Trophies in 5 divisions.  Last year we had a great turnout and are expecting more this year so get to Wild Horse Park early and be ready to ride!  Show starts at 10:00.  
Our August meeting will be at Dogwood’s on highway 92 at 7:00.  If you haven’t been to a meeting in awhile please come out for some fellowship through horsemanship and to share ideas for upcoming club events.

Our next club meeting will be Thursday, February 7th at 7:00, at the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce in Hiram.  
Tentatively, March 29th is the first Open Show of 2008.  We have updated our show sheet to add some fun and different classes!  If you would like to be added to the show sheet and website as a sponsor for 2008 please email shelly@highcountrystables.com by February 15th!
The Paulding County Saddle Club Drill Team will meet for its first practice/try-outs Feb. 10th, 1:00,  at Wild Horse Park in Powder Springs.  You must be a member of the club to participate in the Drill Team.  We have tons of fun and great camaraderie.  If the weather is not cooperative we will reschedule so please check website for updates.
Don’t forget, membership dues for 2008 are due!   The membership form is under forms on the menu bar.  You can download a copy and send it with your check to the PCSC PO Box or bring it to the February meeting.

St Jude Trail Ride

Dear PCSC Members,
Sheri Fennell is organizing a benefit trail ride for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to be held at McIntosh Reserve Park, Whitesburg, GA.  The date is Saturday, November 17th, with registration at 9:30 AM and the ride starting at 10:00 AM.
St. Jude has had phenomenal success in researching and developing treatments and cures for devastating children’s diseases, many of which are forms of cancer.  They share their research with anyone in the world who requests it.   St. Jude accepts children from all over the US and around the world, regardless of ability to pay.  Families with no medical insurance are never asked to come up with the money to cover treatment. St. Jude’s continued success relies on donations from the public and matching gifts from corporations.
